The Fight4thePJM Lapel Pin!

Latest news! We hear that our Lapel Pin is being sold to veterans by a commercial organisation (i.e. not ourselves and not an NMBVA Branch) at a high price - with loaded Post and Packing costs! Our lawyers are looking into this because we don't want any profiteering on the backs of ex-servicemen and women via the product we created.

Anyone not buying from us, or from an NMBVA Branch to whom we have supplied lapel badges, is being ripped off!

We had ceased manufacturing the badges. The costs of manufacture/P&P to date have been subsidised by Fight4thePJM. But, while this is being sorted out, we'll now continue to provide our Fight4thePJM Lapel Badge on the basis of our no-profit policy, i.e. at a cost of only £2.50 each plus P&P. Our price will always be lower than any commercial profit-making company ... that we guarantee. And you can be sure you are buying the real thing!

And so we are able to continue to offer you the opportunity to purchase one of our original enamel Lapel Pins. Orders will be met on a first come, first served, basis.

Manufactured to the highest standards, we have designed and produced the lapel pin ourselves. The lapel badge, 30mm in height, has a butterfly fastener so that it can be pinned to any garment or through a buttonhole.

Our Fight4thePJM Dictum on the badge is in Malay: “Pingat Kami - Hak Kami”. It means “Our Medal - Our Right”.

The impact of the Malay is “We have earned the medal and have been awarded it - We have the moral and legal right to wear it”.

These sentiments have been well received by our supporters and by our Malaysian friends who confirm our words are courteous (which was a bit of a relief as our Malay is getting very rusty!).

Granny or Reef 'Not'?

We understand that many recipients of the PJM in the UK are concerned that their PJM has the correct layout. Should the 'fronds' go left over right ... or right over left?

We can confirm that both designs are correct. We have seen both versions in the UK in their blue presentation boxes.

The one on the left is Barry's PJM. It was presented to him in July 2006 in London at the Malaysian High Commission - by the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister. To 'prove' the point, note the miniature - its fronds are the opposite way round to the full size medal, but both were in the same presentation box!

It has been confirmed to us that both versions are equally legitimate. Our Lapel Pin may reflect one design but it could just as well have been the other.

We are selling these badges because of the many requests that we should do so from those who have seen it. Clearly, when worn they will promote our campaign.

All proceeds are reinvested into new stocks of the badge or into publicising the campaign, or are paid to Ex-Service Associations. Contributions are also made to the Gurkha Welfare Trust, and the World Wildlife Fund to help its work in the jungles of Borneo. (By the way, you will want to know that the symbol of our contributions to the work going on in Borneo, Fight4thePJM's 'adopted' orang-utang "Koyah", is doing very well!)

When the campaign is disbanded or when there is no longer a call for the pins, any monies from the sales of these badges and still held by us will be contributed to the Gurkha Welfare Trust, the World Wildlife Trust, or other similar charity.

The Fight4thePJM Lapel Badge, "Badge of Honour" as it is called in Malaysia, has been presented or purchased in five continents ... countries where it is now worn include England, Northern Ireland, Eire, Scotland, Wales, Nepal, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, India, China, Fiji, Singapore, Argentina, Thailand, Japan, South Africa, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and, most important of all - Malaysia.

Your Campaign is truly worldwide.
