The Australian Government got around all this by simply awarding their troops an Active Service Medal for those who served anywhere on active service from 1975 onwards, a Service Medal for those who served anywhere fron 1945 (and 1975) onwards (including Berlin), a Defence Force Medal for service in Australia for 15 years service and, horror of horors, seperate long service and conduct medals! Now can you imagine the strain on the NHS if that was introduced in this country, Coney and his chums would all be apoplexic.
