EDINBURGH MEETING.

On Tuesday, 9th. March, 2010, a PJM meeting was held in Edinburgh to discuss the way forward in our campaign to have the shameful non-wear of the honourable Pingat Jasa Malaysia rescinded and all British veterans given the right to wear the PJM in line with all other Commonwealth veterans.

Present were -

Barry Fleming ( Founder of Fight4thePJM),
Andy Nicoll (Co-Founder and Chairman of the Fight4thePJM),
A retired KOSB Brigadier (holder of the PJM).
A retired Borders businessman (holder of the PJM).
An Edinburgh Solicitor who specialises in military law. The Solicitor also brought his secretary who took notes.

The meeting was arranged by Barry Fleming who was also attending to personal business whilst in Edinburgh. Barry laid on a delicious working lunch of sandwiches, wine, tea and coffee at, I may add, his own expense.

The meeting went very well and we all came away with a number of proposals which we believe will assist our campaign and will become evident as time goes by. Unfortunately, we cannot allow the ‘parcel of rogues’ in Whitehall who are responsible for the disgraceful non-wear rule to know just what we are up to, so we must keep the details of our meeting confidential. I can, however, say that those present have extremely good connections and our campaign will be discussed further outwith the F4 circle. We also touched briefly on the Human Rights Act, our democratic rights as British private citizens and maladministration. The solicitor who is supplying his time and services ‘pro bono’ has agreed to assist further.

Later that day, as previously arranged, Barry and myself went to the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood, where we had a meeting with an advisor to a top Scottish government official who is herself standing for the SNP at the next Westminster election. This lady is very interested in our campaign and has made enquiries on our behalf and passed on to others our fight for justice. Another meeting with Scottish officials is being arranged later.

Whilst at Holyrood we met by chance a reporter. His name is Andrew Nicoll (no kidding!) and he is the political reporter for the Sun newspaper. We had a talk about our family roots – we both descend from family originating in Dundee – and I gave him some details of our fight4thepjm and asked if he would consider doing an article for us. This will also be followed up later.

In conclusion I would like to extend our most grateful thanks to Barry Fleming for arranging and financing this meeting. His attendance, leadership and wise counsel were most appreciated by all.

Andy Nicoll,
Chairman.

Thanks for the update.

It strengthens the resolve of the F4 supporters, and will give the 'doubting Thomases' something to think about.

Regards and thanks to our leaders, "Up the Green Army"!

Well, we have always known that they speak with forked tongues.

Post Henry Bellingham.
In this Written Parliamentarty answer Mr Bellingham MP is saying that an unelected quango of civil servants who report to no-one and act in secret, made the DECISION that the PJM could be accepted but not worn.

It looks like no-one gives a hoot that in our democracy any such decision must be on the authority of our elected parliament as it interferes with the freedom, civil liberties, equality and democratic rights of ordinary British citizens.

The British public have entrusted their freedom and liberty to the statutory law of our land administered by our elected parliamentarians but it looks like they have been very remiss in their duty of care to us veterans by allowing such despotic actions and rules by a group who have no authority and act outwith our parliament.

The sad thing is that people like Henry Bellingham MP, once they have regained power and have taken over government again forget all the promises and assurances they gave whilst seeking re-election.

Yes, none of them are to be trusted and they still wonder and cannot understand why the British people mistrust them. To David Cameron and Nick Clegg I say 'just read the statement from Henry Bellingham and you will see why we have lost faith in you'.
