Post Koyah.
Freya is beautiful, Bill.

And I hope you realise that she will get her own back one day! They always do.

Post Latest piccies of your adopted relative ... !
Here are the latest piccies from Borneo:

First Baby Koyah (she's only 10 months old - born October 2006)

And now Koyah and her mum, Ibu (in a Laran Tree in Borneo). Ibu (means 'Mother' in Malay/Indonesian) is about 20 years old. Orang-Utan have a life span of about 50 years ... if their habitat is not destroyed!

Just a few hours away from the year 2011 and I wonder :-

Is it because we have been so engrossed in the fight for OUR medal that we have perhaps forgotten our adopted friend KOYHA ?

Do we have any update on how she is ?.

Hi phredd,

Koyah is fine. He is over 4 years old now. By contributing to the WWF we continue to help look after him (as do others now, we are pleased to report) and receive reports on his well-being. He is still with his mum Ibu but we hear Koyah is becoming more independent which is good.

No - we may be preoccupied elsewhere, but we do not forget our other commitments, including to Koyah and all orang-utans in Borneo, our old habitat as I recall. Through the sale of our lapel pins we also continue to support ex-servicemen and women but we prefer not to publicise it.

Thanks for asking about Koyah's well-being and a Happy New Year to you.

Barry

PS When we first adopted Koyah we were told 'she' was a female orang-utan. 'She' turned out to be a 'he'!

KOYAH You are now 7 years old. May I wish you well and a Happy Birthmonth (day not known).
You are not forgotten by us. May you live long and safe.

My Orang Utan Freya is now 13 years old.
She often asks how Koyah is.
