George F wrote:Would Mr Brennan and all those elected and non elected gentlemen at Whitehall who were responsible for the script compiled in the humiliating PJM medal Ministerial written Statement 31 January 2006 not agree that HMG should likewise make a public written statement "It is for individual's to decide whether they wish to wear the medal"...

Yes ... and they could also acknowledge the service of PJMers by simply saying "You have unrestricted permission to wear the medal" for that is what the medal merits.

It is not really that difficult....a simple statement as outlined by George and Barry to the effect that we are to be treated the same as our Commonwealth comrads and all this will go away!!!

If everyone registered (or not) to this site puts a message on one Military Website Guestbook then that will do for starters, I can't recall how many G/B I have signed now but here is my latest
http://www.freewebs.com/exrafairmovements/index.htm
It is our time era, it also means that if you travelled by air in the days of the PJM/GSM Malaya/Borneo/Briunei you almost certainly had some involvement with these guys

.........and a link from Jims site above to my site
John has also recently started a web forum for matters RAF. You might be surprised who you could run into while visiting this site. The main topic at the moment is the PJM (Pingat Jasa Malaysia) Medal awarded to qualifying British and Commonwealth servicemen for their contribution to the orderly transition to Independence. Initially the UK Gov. refused to accept this award but after a huge outcry they have relented. However they are now saying that recipients are not permitted to wear the medal alongside any other campaign or service awards. Read the latest on John's RAF Forum here..............

Dunnit, John.

While there I tried to see how to send Jim Aitken a request for a link to the PJM web site and to send him the logo and accompanying text. If you know how to contact him, when (I know ...) you have time, can you send him the two attachments at http://www.fight4thepjm.org/lobby_spreadthepjmlogo.htm ?

Thanks, Barry

If you omit the 'Forum' new visitors will first see our Home Page - if anyone has not been there recently, we receive many encouraging messages about it.

   | Another avenue to try
I have just sent a letter outlining our campaign, to Brian Walden. He was a Labour MP before taking the Chiltern Hundreds, and is now a broadcaster and journalist. He was stated in Magaret Thatcher's autobiography as being her favourite interview because of his incisive technique. He is not phased by his subject and is not afraid to ask the questions that politicians do not like to answer. I'll let you know how he responds.

So is this part apathy then George? Because when I found out about this last May, I was euphoric at the very thought but at first wasn't sure whether I would qualify by just being in Singapore.
I reckon Gerry's post on Channel 4 will bring droves on to here, when I put an ad on there 5 - 6 weeks ago I had 100 new members join my forum in one week that it was aired!

To that end, I've just sent off another one, George.

It's on the web at http://www.fight4thepjm.org/whatwesay_letter_to_an_MP.htm
I used it as the covering letter for an updated submission.
