The Royal British Legion Supports Us - Formally
I have just received this message from John Ireland who is at the RBL Conference:
"Today, 28th May 2007, the RBL National Conference voted unanimously to accept the motion to lobby HM Government for the PJM to be worn on formal occasions.
The motion was unopposed.
Standard Bearers were seen to be wearing the medal."
This can only be good news and is the result of considerable and ongoing effort. We thank John for proposing this motion, and all RBL members who have helped us.

 RBL
Excellent news but I doubt if these eight morons in the HD Committee are going to own up to their incompetence.
Well done John Ireland, you are a credit to us all and many, many thanks for all your efforts.
I have always said (right from the start if you look it up) that we are a Band of Brothers who can hold our heads up high as we have fought a good and lawful fight against injustice, prevarication and arrogance from an establishment who has acted unlawfully and with malice against us.
We fought for and earned our medal. We will fight to wear it but we should never have been put in this position.

 The Motion at Conference
I am pleased to report that my motion for the RBL to lobby the government for the right to wear our PJM's went through unapposed and unanimously. There were Standard Bearers on parade wearing theirs already with the blessing of the Parade Marshal as a result of her being given a copy of the London Gazette entry when I saw her last.
But that is not all........................
In September the Director General, Francis Done, has announced that the Legion will begin a new nationwide campaign, the Broken Covenant Campaign. She announced that as a result of the government breaking it's covenant with the services, we the RBL will be reminding them publicly and forcibly just where it has broken it's trust with the service community both past and present. Among the subjects that she refered to are Medical care for both serving and retired and their dependants etc, Lifelong health care for those affected by service, independant scrutiny of service related deaths, inquests delays, just compensation and a better standard of proof for war pensions etc. Too much to mention here but take it from me it will cause a hiccup in the corridors of power.
All in all I would say that the Lion has roared, we must now wait and see whether it is heard.
Best wishes to you all
John

 RBL Support
John
.....am most excited at the news of the RBL's motion of support...as every Fight4 member should be...this unanimous support has the effect of swelling our numbers by almost half a million.
Neither has it escaped my notice that your own determined efforts are, in great measure, responsible for this escalation of our camapaign....Well done!

So, there are only 8 people that oppose us now.
Great news from the RBL.

Just wondering, did any of the National Daily Newspapers run with this at all?
