Post Party Piece (Peace?)
I believe:

Parties make promises - Governments break them (well, all too often).

We must now wait and see if a future, different government, will keep to a promise
it acutally made in writing, or well maybe an MP of a future, different government
who can be said to have "acted as their agent", will break this chain of promises and
broken promises. However, having said that, we were only promised a review of the 'system'
and of the PJM in particular; we have had reviews before and have been disappointed - it largely
depends whether the review is carried out by the "Government" itself, a Parliamentary Committee (usually all Party)
or handed back to the s*its as before. I have absolute faith that our 'management' have this well in mind.

*In deference to ones sensitivities, please insert 'u' or 'h' as desired!

Cool

"However, having said that, we were only promised a review of the 'system'

I have NEVER been one to introduce polatics, I have only replied to those who have, to offer a balanced view. Dont forget, gentlemen, I am with you all the way on the issue of the pjm, but will not sit in silence on other matters when I feel they are unjust (Defence Cuts, Red Arrows, etc) anything else and I with you all the way, as this email copy will show -
Dear Mr Steele

Sir Paul Beresford has just forwarded me a copy of your message to him about SSAFA’s plans to convert a house in Ashtead to provide accommodation for the families of military personnel being treated at Headley Court. I am replying since Grays Lane, the site of the house in question, is in fact within the Epsom and Ewell constituency.

As you probably know by now, Mole Valley District Council decided unanimously to back SSAFA’s scheme at its planning committee meeting yesterday evening; I hope that everything now proceeds smoothly for all concerned.

With best wishes

Chris Grayling

The General inspecting the trenches
Exclaimed with a horrified shout
'I refuse to command a division
Which leaves its excreta about.'

But nobody took any notice
No one was prepared to refute,
That the presence of sh*t was congenial
Compared to the presence of Shute.

And certain responsible critics
Made haste to reply to his words
Observing that his staff advisors
Consisted entirely of turds.

For sh*t may be shot at odd corners
And paper supplied there to suit,
But a sh*t would be shot without mourners
If someone shot that sh*t Shute.

Hi Fred.

I have never doubted that for one moment.

Post Reply from David Cameron's Office
Dear Mr Revell,
Thank you for emailing David Cameron – I am replying on his behalf. I do apologise for the delay in my reply.
We recognise that the rules governing the awarding of foreign medals and decorations have been implemented inconsistently and understand the frustration of those veterans eligible for the PJM. The contribution made by those who served in Malaysia should not be forgotten. It is also important however that the rules governing these issues are not disregarded.
Mark Harper MP, the Shadow Minister for Veterans, has stated that a future Conservative Government would review the rules governing the awarding of foreign medals. The current regulations have been devalued such that decisions are difficult to take on an objective basis. During this review all medal issues can be considered and rules will be drafted to ensure that all medal decisions are thought through and applied consistently.
Thank you once again for your email.
