DON TOUHIG
I too have sent my thanks to Don Touhig:
Dear Mr Touhig,
I would like to add my personal thanks for all that you are doing for us in the Fight4thepjm campaign.
I note that your question regarding consultation before the HD Committee's decision to accept and not be allowed to wear, was answered thus:
"................. The Malaysian authorities were also included in discussions prior to the decision being taken".
Of course they would be included in any discussion, it was after all their medal they were offering!
However, the answer implies that they were included in the discussions which accepted the offer of the medal but denied us the opportunity to wear it!
So! What is the truth? Did the Malaysian authorities agree to the acceptance of the medal but on the understanding that it would not be worn, or is this further evidence of deliberate deception. I believe that the Rt Hon Meg Munn MP was and is being mislead by those who's job it is to give her honest advice vide the Civil Service Code.
I personally find it hard to believe that the Malaysian authorities would agree to such an arrangement, but it does worry me.
All members of the Committee itself took part in the discussions ( I believe that this is the only time that they have actually recently met, ie December 2005).
Again, many thanks for your marvellous efforts.
Yours sincerely,
David Dilley

Brown Ltd.
Terrific Mr Don Touhig. Respect.
His questions, particularly over the last few days, have the accuracy of a guided missile. Targets Aquired.
Brown, Munn and Co are starting to take on the appearance of a certain beseiged force in the Transvaal in 1879.
No I'm wrong there. They were beseiged too but they were people who were soldiers and understood concepts like duty and honour.
However, Brown Ltd,. have the support of their Senior and bemedalled Civil Servants......................don't they? I would watch my back if I were them.

On the move
Moving house next week and although not moving far, it gives me a different Member of Parliament to talk to.
Quill being sharpened as we speak.

John,
Have an easy move and, hopefully, not too many problems.

Meg Munn.
David,
According to information sent to me in the early stages of the fight4thepjm, I think it came from the FCO Chris Edge, but am not too sure at the moment, it was said that the Malaysian authorities were kept informed of the negotiations about the PJM. I will check my files and see if I can trace this comment which is entirely the opposite of the one being made by Meg Mun that the Malaysian authorities were also included in the negotiations.

QTH
Whoops !!!!
I am sure Jock meant no offence.
And all those years ago they told us we were the only ones who would understand the Q codes. (only kidding)
Joking apart Jock and friends, my QTH remains York.
Now where's my Z code book.
