York????...My most hated transfer....I had to change from the Edburgh/London train to the Lincoln train there so many Sunday mornings while I was on training ....very early in the am....York is not a city...to me it's merely a cemetery with lights....

Getting back to the thread.

In one of her answers Meg Munn stated that..... 'The Malaysian authorities were
included in the discussions prior to the decision being taken'.


In the HD Rebuttal entitled THE PINGAT JASA MALAYSIA AND WHY ELIGLBE BRITISH
RECIPIENTS MAY EXCEPTIONALLY RECEIVE, BUT NOT WEAR, THE MEDAL it is
stated....... 'The Malaysian High Commission has been kept informed of
developments at all stages in the decision-making process, through regular
meetings with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO)'.

In a letter dated 12th. July, 2007, to Geoffrey Robinson MP - Dennis Brennan
stated in connection with the PJM ..... 'that position has been conveyed to
the Malaysian Government, who have accepted that it is for the British
government to decide upon its policy in these matters'.

Everyone, except Meg Munn, has said the Malaysian authorities were kept informed but she has stretched the truth by insinuating that the Malaysian authorities were part of the decision process. For a senior member of the FCO to tell such a whopper involving a friendly foreign country in such a minor manner makes one wonder just what they are prepared to do for matters of foreign policy which are far more serious.

So McD why not challenge Ms Munn on this particular matter via your own MP, she must respond to a written question from an MP

Yes John but I have already done so with other questions and now have two FOI requests. One with the FCO internal review team under Jackie Barston and the other with the FCO information rights team with Samuel Osei-Wusu. I have, of course, sent a copy of the above to Don Touhig MP for his information. My MP has been excellent with his support for the PJM and he has done a great deal for me and at the moment I do not want to over-burden him. I also feel at the moment that the Permanent under Secretary of State at the FCO is prepared to support the status quo at the expense of the electorate and any answer she is compelled to give will be given in her normal vacuous manner. Andy.

Those individuals, like Ms Munn and her coterie of civil service advisors, must eventually be brought (dragged if need be?) to the realisation that if they elect to defend their policy with misdirection and lies, then that policy, by definition, becomes nothing but absurdly fictional.

Jack Straw: The Committee on the Grant of Honours, Decorations and Medals' recommendations will be presented to the Queen shortly. An announcement about the Pingat Jasa Malaysia will be made as quickly as possible.

Now this answer is very interesting and one which suggests that someone is being very liberal with the truth.

On 9th. January, 2006 Jack Straw MP, Foreign Secretary, says 'the HD recommendations will be presented to the Queen shortly' YET we all know that he was told in writing by The Private Secretary to HM the Queen, Sir Robin Janvrin (or was it Janvirn) on 21st. December, 2005, (letter reached his office on 29th. December, 2006) that the recommendations had been approved by the Queen.

When, or IF, the HD Committee recommendations went to the Queen is becoming more confusing, especially when Ministers of the Crown give different information to their colleagues in Parliament than that which is before them in a document.

I will pass this on to Don Touhig MP.
