Post In the beginning ...
We have been asked to prepare submissions for certain formal 'initiatives' that are about to be launched (more of which later), and we are also preparing briefs for the Second Reading of the Rt Hon Don Touhig's Bill that seeks to make the unelected HD Committee accountable to our directly elected Parliament.

We are working through some 300 pages of information photographed at the National Archives in Kew, London.

We were amused to read a paper prepared by the Honours Secretariat in the mid-1960's (being among the most recent releases of papers relevant to our campaign - they sit on them for 30 years or more) which had been asked to give an historical summary regarding the Acceptance of Foreign and Commonwealth Medals by members of British Forces.

What was the very first thing that sprang into their 'minds' (I use the term loosely). It must have been at the forefront of the 'thinking' in British Honours circles when considering this question, and it gives you some insight into how they see us in the context of wearing medals.

Have a guess as to what you believe would be their very first item in their submission that they felt it necessary to record ... then click the link to see how close you got:
