 Tony Davies a.k.a. Kentsboro
I have just heard from John (Semengo13) the very sad news that his and our good friend Tony Davies has died.
The following message from Tony's wife was was posted on the 651 Troop website ( http://651signaltroop.gbshearer.co.uk/) on the 16th August.
"It is with great sorrow that I have to tell you that Tony died this morning.
He had one of the family with him at all times and died in my arms. He endured great pain with humour, dignity and was so very brave right to the end.
Please thank all your members for their kind thoughts.
Carol"
As everyone knows, Tony was a staunch supporter of our campaign. What many may not know is that he helped me a lot behind the scenes with my F4 work.
This is very sad news indeed and our thoughts are with Carol and his family at this very difficult time for them.

Do Something Positive for the F4 in Memory of Tony
I have just sent this message to Caroline Nokes, Tony's MP:
"I am writing to you to give you the very sad news that your constituent Tony Davies has died. You will recall that he had written to you seeking your help in his fight for the right to wear his Malaysian medal, the Pingat Jasa Malaysia (PJM).
Tony was courageous throughout his life - never complaining. It is very sad indeed that he did not live to hear if he had The Queen's permission to wear the PJM with honour. Perhaps you could advise Andrew Robathan.
I know that Tony was very grateful for your help, and so am I and 35,000 other ex-servicemen and women who are entitled to the PJM."
I would ask everyone to write to Caroline at caroline@romseyconservatives.co.uk to thank her for supporting Tony.
Barry

Message sent.
It would be a nice gesture if there are any PJMers in the area who could attend the funeral representing all us Malay/Borneo Veterans.

 Kentsborro
What a sad day to learn that out mate Tony has passed away. He was an inspiration to us all, what with his acerbic wit and humorous cartoons, he will be sorely missed.
We will still carry the torch for you - vita lampada tradamus et tradaunt, for those of a classical bent.
RIP old friend.

My condolences sent to Carol.
A pity that he had not heard that he had the right to wear his PJM.

Thought you would like to see an image of Tony - back in his Borneo days. It was sent to me by John Rushton and I am very grateful to him for allowing its publication here.

A stalwart of the campaign, such a great loss. It may not be of concern to those hand wringing, buttock clenching anti-public servants but for those supporting the campaign we know what a great contribution he has made - Lest we Forget.
