If I only ever had to salute one person ever again, it would have to be you, Sir!
Since this campaign for the right to wear the PJM your photo epitomises everything that has been righted by 35000 Veterans, I can't think how many people have read this thread and the URL link that is attached to it, all I know is that it has gone around the globe several times
Onward and Upward David.........and thanks!

Tony Davies final parade.
After a computer failure and telephone cut-off combined Tony's wife Carol has sent some family images of their children and grand children taken on Remembrance Sunday. I can only hope that my hopeless computer skills have managed to attach a download of 7 photos. If not I shall keep trying

How embarassing...not a single megapixel. Ah well I have until January to find the right tit to press....and Tony will be enjoying my ineptitude enormously. Bloody ruperts are such a pain in the rectumtube at times like this...and I can hear all kinds of abuse coming down the phone from above.

Gentlemen.
It has been a long and hard fight for all of you as well as those of us that served in the window of the PJM timeline that gave us the right to receive and wear this wonderful and very important medal but did not qualify for a UK issued one (GSM 1962).
Nonetheless, this medal means a great deal to us and no doubt many more will now apply for theirs.
Through the fight4the PJM web site I have met some amazing people and that included Jock who sadly wasn't with us on parade when the correct decisions were made and implemented.
The knock on effect will be an up to date review of an archaic system that prevails today.
As we have heard, a young Para received a prestigious award from the US Marine Corps a few weeks back and it was framed when presented. Why? Because nobody was certain he could wear it?
Typical eh and perhaps the right outcome will also prevail down the line.
If you earned it you should be able to wear it under the modern guidelines to come.
My heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for the countless hours, days, weeks and years of relentless determination to bring about a just and obvious (to most of us) result.
I am proud to call all of you 'friend'.
If my friend and ex LG Officer Lord Astor of Hever should read these pages I hope he understands why I bent his ear so many times and my thanks to him for doing the right thing. I know he will wear his medal (well I hope so).

The above photos.
Thanks for your help, Barry, I can now report back to Tony's family that I have kept my promise.
Here are a few details: Picture No 1 is of Tony and Carols children Suzanne and James. Shortly before he died Tony asked James to wear his medals come this Remembrance Day. The two boys are Tony's grandsons and insisted on a "go" at wearing his gongs. Finally we have a photo of his granddaughters; The older one is Isobel and sitting on her knee is the indomitable Martha. Some of us might remember Tony asking for support of the specialist hospital where Martha had her two heart ops in the first few months of her life. He was also determined to live long enough to see wee Martha, "Out of the woods", as he put it, so we have her to thank for several extra months of the pleasure of his company and support.
Thank you, Martha!

I have sounded many a last post when serving in Malaya (Terendak) and Borneo
(Sarawak and Sabah) on my trusty bugle, and of course on public duties elsewhere
however , I would suggest none was more heart rending than when echoed accross the Square and into the" ULU".
Thank you Barry !! and all the team , I have enjoyed the tour with a worthwhile end.
AND NOW THIS IS MY FINAL LAST POST.

Home at last (in more ways than one)!
Dear Friends and fellow PJMers.
Thank you all for your best wishes.
My condition is inoperable; I'm being treated with inhibitors; Mr Hunter and the Surgical Team, and the nursing staff, at Northampton NGH Trust practically worked a miracle to get me home and the physio-terrorists in the hospital gym played a terrific part in getting me to my present state of health. I feel fit in myself generally , enjoying my independence and 'raring to go'.
I, as I'm, sure we all are, will be ever grateful to Barry and the executive (why not) and those, including myself, who had the privilege to support them.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and many Happy New Years.
Yours, Aye
David
