For what reason does the MoD have to provide a licence to issue replica medals other than getting a cut of the proceeds?
Perhaps that is why they are so miffed about not getting a cut out of the PJM!

 The French Connection
Nine British veterans of WW2 have been awarded the Legion d'Honneur by the French government for bravery during the Allied invasion of France in 1944. Among those present at the ceremony in London were Major General Corran William Purdon who was just 20 years old when he landed in Normandy with the Royal Ulster Rifles. So the questions are: 1. have they been given formal permission to wear the medal; 2. does the HD Committee regard this as a campaign award, if so, it is well past the 5 year rule. It certainly is not a commemorative award, and the citation is for bravery.
