Follow this example and contact your MP and ask him or her to wrote to Mrs Beckett.
We need those letters to be sent now! It is critical.
I have just done exactly that. Here is my letter to me MP (Richard Benyon):
Dear Richard,
We are now entering the critical stage of our campaign and I need your help one more time.
Our Rebuttal and the Petition to the Queen have been sent by Buckingham Palace to Margaret Beckett 'for consideration'. I enclose a copy of the covering letter.
The Rebuttal is being considered by the civil servants but, unhappily, by the very people who created all the myths in the first place (please see the Portsmouth Today articles in relation to the Arctic Emblem - nothing has changed since 2004, even some of the same civil servants are involved). The 'police' are policing themselves so we do not hold out much hope for justice and truth from them.
I have met Michael Ancram when attending a meeting with one of Michael's constituents. Having considered all the aspects very carefully with his Barrister's mind, Michael Ancram is fully onside and he has written to Margaret Beckett supporting our campaign and our request to wear the PJM.
Don Touhig has written to us to say that the Veterans Minister, Tom Watson, has said he will write to the HD Committee to make the case for the PJM to be worn by British Citizens.
Politically, all we need to do (we are advised by usually reliable sources) is to encourage the political will.
Support continues to grow daily. In six months, 50,000+ visitors to our web site; support from 29 countries on five continents. That level of support is stunning and, to us, humbling. We know we have a just case and we shall never give up. In addition to Michael Ancram, we have Ming Campbell onside now together with the Lib Dem Defence spokesman. And with Don Touhig and Tom Watson supporting our case, as do all small parties like the 100% of the SNP and those in Northern Ireland, we have considerable strength in depth and from across the UK. A Petition for the medal to be worn in Scotland has been put to the Scottish Parliament. And so it goes on, and on.
Hence my request to you. Will you write to Mrs Beckett on my behalf to make the case for the PJM to be worn by British citizens in line with their Commonwealth ex-comrades in arms? She has the power to right this wrong.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you very much.
With kind regards,
Barry
