Post More news of British Civil Servants ruling the roost
I was appalled to read this today - kindly sent to me by Keith in the USA:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/10/09/nmarois09.xml

It seems to me that these civil servants are bringing this country into disrepute time after time after time ...

Of course he isn't named. No guts you see! After all, he is only defying the wishes of FIVE Generals!

===============================================

Gentleman.
I am an administrator of a website known as,
The Old Oak Tree, 'TOOT' for short. http://www.theoldoaktree.net/

It contains a password protected BB or Message Board. But feel free to view the many picture albums and links.

I posted the following this morning..

Your help is needed.

As you know, many members of this site ARE entitled to the PJM from the Malay Government and we are grateful for being allowed, at long last to apply for it.
However the fight to actually gain FORMAL permission to wear it is ongoing.

Those of you who have applied for the medal need to contact your representatives in Parliament to push this to a correct and proper conclusion.

You may remember Mr J.J. Astor as a young officer back in the 60's when serving in the Far East, well he now holds the title of..
Lord Astor of Hever. DL. and a member of the House of Lords.

His e.mail address is.. astorjj@parliament.uk

I suggest you send him a note and comment as an ex LG. asking him to help us in our fight.
As well as YOUR own MP. of course.

The more notes he receives, the more weight it carries.
Please be courteous and not flippant, we need his support, not his wrath.

Keith.

Today I have seen three examples of Civil Service ineptitude, in your and my day in the Forces we would have referred to these people 'as thick as 96 bog seats', I suppose in this day and age Political Correctness would probably say 'hey, that is unfair on bog seats' Shocked

I really cannot believe that there is one platoon that is so out of touch with the rest of The Battalion, not so much out of touch but out of step with public opinion, they are running scared, they have made their faux pas in the past 8+ months and soon it will be our turn to put the size 9 in with Blakeys and all!

Watch this space!!
