Just to put the record straight...........
..........Who on this forum has been barred from speaking to Civil Servants and for what reason or flatly refuse to answer your questions.
I have been barred from speaking to Mr Richard Coney at The MoD
I have been barred from speaking to Mr Ian Keith at The MoD
I have not had replies on behalf of The 5 Year Rule or Double Medalling from Mr Denis Brennan at The Cabinet Office but Mr Chris Edge thinks I am referring to him, talk about DUAL MUDDLING!
The MoD Correspondence Unit have failed to answer my questions and several other lesser known Civil Servants too, so do you have any examples that we may gather together a dossier?

Yes John.
Baroness Symonds of Vernham Dean declined to answer my letter.
Elleri Pengelly of the Cabinet Office declined to answer my letter.
Richard Coney, MOD declined to reply to my last email.
Ian Keith, MOD answered my email and said he would not correspond with me and I would have to contact the MOD Correspondence Unit.
Ian McCartney, FCO declined to answer my letter.
Des Browne MOD declined to answer my letter.
Give Christopher J Edge, FCO, his due, has answered me fairly promptly but I am still waiting an answer to a letter I sent him.
Every MSP in the Scottish Parliament I have contacted has answered me promptly and politely. I know who I will be voting for next May (in Scotland) and it will not be Labour.

You're lucky. You still can vote.
The MPs took away my right to vote in the UK.

Me thinks that you should all use the complaints system against them just to remind them of their duties and responsibilities.

Complaints.
Yes, there is a mountain of complaints which John rightly says will be dealt with at the right time and I hope collectively.

The Roll of civil Servants
Still I suppose the chair polishers in Whitehall can empathise with what service personnel have been through and are going through in the field under fire. After all it must be hell to be up to your neck in paper clips, biros, computers, emails etc etc. Then the big battle with the tea trolley for the best stickies.I suppose their casualty rate must be terrible.

Valentine
Just typical of a paper shuffler, fob you off with any old crap, one day a great percentage of 35000 ex Vets are going to get quite angry, if the CTs thought a few 25 pounders from a Sunderland or a Lincoln was something then someone else had better look out below
The day cometh..........#

Just to put the record straight
Re Letter above addressed to mr D. Birchall. I have just received thre same letter in the post today..I refer to the last paragraph on page two of the letter "I appreciate that this matter means a geat deal to you and that this reply will be dissapointing".
Bloody Cheek...and yes it does mean a lot to me. And they still have not fallen in to the fact that we are not dissapointed by their pathetic replies, because we are on the Winning Side, We will prevail, We will win, We will wear the Medal, We will overturn their shoddy recommendations, We will prove that the only "double" standards are their's.....
Terry....
P.S. Barry...Do you want the original of my letter for your files ?.

Very much so - I'll download it. Thanks very much.
May I point out that this is a classic case of pan-departmental confusion.
We have been told categorically that the 'risk and rigour' criterion does not apply to the PJM.
I shall ask for a clarification!
Barry

This would be their undoing, take them through the Government Ombudsman! Let us see what The Rt Hon Ms Beckett MP says our rebuttal first.

Just a reminder from Jack Straw in November 2005 as quoted from Hansard therefore CROWN COPYRIGHT is being acknowledged
Dr. Julian Lewis: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what his policy is on ex-service personnel (a) receiving and (b) wearing the campaign medal being offered by the Government of Malaysia. [30619]
Mr. Straw [holding answer 21 November 2005]: The offer by the Government of Malaysia to present the Pingat Jasa Malaysia medal, a commemorative rather than a campaign medal, is being considered by the Committee on the Grant of Honours, Decorations and Medals under the Government's rules governing the accepting and wearing of Foreign Awards, Decorations and Medals by British citizens. The Committee is also reviewing these rules.
Please note the last sentence! The Committee is also reviewing these rules.
