Willhasti,
So the medal arrived from the British HC Canberra instead of the Malaysian HC. This sounds unusual.
My medal also developed black spots on it after a while left in the box.
When I give it a good cleaning with a silver cloth the spots all disappeared.

I heard from one PJMer in the UK who tried to clean his PJM and the 'silver' came off. He received his fro the MHC in London.

 Cleaning of PJM
I wonder just what is being used when cleaning your PJM?We are advised to use a silver polish cloth.or Duraglit wadding, definatley NOT Brasso or any other abrasive cleaners.

 Care of PJM
I spoke to a Jeweller and he recommended using Goddard's silver cloth, impregnated,
for normal cleaning and for bad tarnishing using Goddard's Long Term Silver Polish as
directed.
I got my gear by 'phone from:

 Care of PJM
after thought; when I have worn my medals, I rub them over with the silver cloth and pack them away in clingfilm.
They don't realy need cleaning again before you wear them.

Why not get them Chromed like mine, you never have to clean them then and they always look pristine. You don't dirty the ribbons either so that saves having them re-ribboned every few years.
