 Men in Black
Are the men in black monitoring this web site? Within an hour of me posting a note on this web page about foreign medals and waiting for a reply from the FCO I got a reply, the answer was of the Taurus Excretus variety but still an answer.
So you men in black if you are watching I want a proper answer to my question, I am not a mushroom and I will not be fed the brown stuff and whats more I'm not going away, also if you think this question of us wearing the PJM will die with us, forget it, my sons will carry on the fight when I'm gone.

John,
No wind up, within the hour I got a reply, coincidence?
I'm trying to find out under what rules a Labour Life Peer can wear a foreign medal and we can not.

Can you say who the reply was from Paul?

 The Baroness....
Paul Alders asks... Quote:I'm trying to find out under what rules a Labour Life Peer can wear a foreign medal and we can not.
Well Paul...I could be wrong but I rather think it's all a matter of attitude?
....We veterans wish to wear our decorations to signify our service and the service of our comrades departed.
...in contrast, I fancy the Baroness probably uses HER medal as a type of 'Attitude Referencing Device'...in that, it provides her with a convenient visual indication of whether or not she happens to be upside down....?

In regard to my earlier question as to what the title of this Baroness is....
I have been lead to believe that she is now deceased. But I have not had it confirmed by a second party.
And, that was her title.

I have now been informed that the Baroness is on leave of absence from the HoL.

 Foreign Medal
We are not here to hound a woman, young or old, the Baroness might deserve her medal.
All we want to know is; under what rules is she allowed to wear her medal and how do they differ from the rules that stop us wearing the PJM.
Plus how many other foreign medals are there being worn?

Absolutely, Paul. The only reason I pointed to the Cyprus article was because in preceding posts there seemed to be some doubt about who she was and how she spelled her name. In other words, the URL was for identification purposes. This lady should under no circumstances be challenged about her awards - or anything else for that matter.

Exactly. If we have other precedents, it will help our understanding and our case. And to know the scope of Foreign awards will be useful.
