 FORUM GLITCH!!!!
Please note that the Forum has suffered two 'glitches' and the techies are working on it.
The noticeable glitch has sent the dates of all posts to the 1970 default!
We hope to rectify this problem asasp which was not caused by us ... allegedly.
Thanks,
Barry

The glitch was possibly caused by the Men in Suits trying to get around the Double Medaling fiasco

 GLITCH
Jock and Barry,
I told you these people were making me paranoid. Do you think perhaps that they got word that 50 PJMers
might parade with their PJMs,in a solemn act of remembrance around the Cenotaph in Whitehall and the possibiity that they might get arrested with subsequent wave of anti-MoD, FCO and Cabinet Office feeling with well known Civil Servants being put on the rack by the Press and Media? It makes me wonder how long they could contuinue with their myths after that; let alone no OBE/CBE's in the new years honours list - it is never too late to take names off the list for misconduct (which is what their actions amount to). Departmental Ceremonial Officers of the MoD, FCO and Cabinet Office = many of those people who take their own advice recommend it to the HD and pass it on to HM - you really couldn't make it up, could you? Sir Humphrey, where are you?

 DE-GLITCHED ... ALMOST
We have recovered over 12,000 dates of posts and replaced them, but no posts after the 26th October can be recovered.
All posts after that date will be dated 14th November ... a date plucked out of the air so it has no deep and meaningful connotations.
Apologies for that, but at least a complete disaster has been averted.
Barry
PS No - it was not 'Them'. They've got better things to do ... like responding to Freedom of Information Act Requests and putting the kettle on for the chap who had to resign from the top job at the Revenue having put 25 million personal records at risk. I was told he will work in the Cabinet Office until he retires ... that seems to be the place where the incompetent enjoy their sinecures - the perfect place for him as that is where they specialise in major cock-ups! I wonder what 'Honour' his new friends will recommend for him which he will no doubt wear with pride at cock-up, sorry ... cocktail ... parties!

The following is an extract from a marketing 'blurb' for a Hyperion Book...but it is remarkably pertinent...
"AS MINISTERS play kings pronouncing policies that hapless citizens have to listen to, the right stuff to read is Kingdomality, by Sheldon Bowles, Richard and Susan Silvano, published by Hyperion Books.
"Kingdom can't function properly unless all points of view are present. Everyone is needed," writes Ken Blanchard in his foreword, and that's a thought for the Opposition not to be absent from discussions.
The authors introduce us to Harold the Wise, a king amidst chaos. "Unfortunately in his Kingdom, projects got started but were rarely finished. Meetings called to discuss how to get a project concluded would soon turn into meetings discussing why the project wasn't completed, which in reality meant everybody disclaimed any responsibility for the mess and blamed everyone else."
As the court jester put it, the five phases of any project were: "Enthusiasm, trouble, search for a scapegoat, punishment of the innocent, and praise and reward for all non-participants." People were quarrelsome and defeatist.
"The only people who got along were like-minded individuals who banded together. They resembled bands of chattering monkeys, which, when trouble strikes, head for the treetops, scolding whoever and whatever is left below." Too real to ignore!
In light of the PJM situation...too real indeed!

I heard, down-under, that this chap had resigned and had then been rehired at a salary of UKP 200,000 pa.
I have recently been told by my informer in the UK, of the real reason why this chap resigned.....read on......
"I am informed by a colleague of mine who works for HM Revenue and Customs that the Chairman did not resign recently, he retired on medical grounds, suffering from TWO SLIPPED DISCS."
I wonder which one was the truth. On the other hand, do they actually acknowledge the concept of the truth?
