Could be that Australia House will get more enquiries in the next few days.
I wouldn't blame them.

http://tinyurl.com/26r246 John, to be fair, the total payout will be in the region of £597,587 assuming he lives to be 78 years old. This, plus any other income he may receive from other employment, in that context it's not such a bad payout.

Well arguably Redcapfred!....at the very least the lady wife and family of that British soldier should be entitled to safe domicile and these parents provided with a funded opportunity to care for their children until his hitch is over and he may be in a position to make appropriate arrangements fo the care of his family himself....one wonders what these MoD wallahs use in place of hearts???

Ref soldiers wife.
This lady should apply for asylum.
She will be given free train tickets and can then disappear. Others do it.
Its make you sick to see her treated like this when others can can come here and be given all sorts of handouts yet contribute nothing to this country.

I agree entirely with what you say and my question would be 'why are the Royal British Legion not involved and supporting this wife of a serving soldier who is being treated in an appaling disgraceful manner by the brainless wonders in the Home Office?'
Yes, Bill, she should apply for asylum and if they try to deport her take her clothes off and create a scene and they will offer her £4000 to leave.
I cannot express in words my disgust at these faceless bureaucrats who no doubt will be paid thousands of public money at the end of the year in bonuses.

 Civil Service compensation awards
Yes Mcdangle, what I am waiting impatiently for is, for a Civil serpent to strain his back, picking up his massive productivity bonus.
Needless to say the claim would be outrageous and in keeping with the current trend.
My thoughts are, that nobody should be permitted to become a civil servant until they have completed at least three years in the military. Preferably under fire. Maybe they would view things a little differently.
Yours Aye
Arthur

Couldn't have been a proper Civil serpent - they will always send Job requests to the IT or Facilities contractor for the task to be done - even down to picking up coffee granules spilt in the kitchennette, as has happened in the building that I work in.
Seems like the MOD keep scoring own goals, what with the fairly recent £1/2 mil compo for a sore thumb !!
