Thanks very much, Ivor.
It's all about to happen again on the BBC and so we're on early stand-to! Same station.

 Solent Radio.
Emailed a big YES last night and, having found the volume knob on the computer have been listening. Wonderful stuff!
What a birthday present for you, Barry....but don't stint on the malt.

Spot on, George. Total hypocrisy.

What happened to the good old days, when, if you were bad at your job, you got fired.
Nowadays, it seems that dishonesty and incompetence are considered a virtue within certain quarters, and they will even give you a pretigious 'gong' for your troubles, or should I say the trouble that you have caused.
Perhaps that is where we have all gone wrong.
Yours Aye
Arthur

Yes Arthur it is indeed a sad reflection on those responsible for administering our public service. Unfortunately it is becoming more widespread. As a program manager in health services before retirement I witnessed situations where incompetence was tolerated because of fear of reprisals from above (not heaven I might add) either politically or senior management trying to appease the patron saint's of lost causes. To show initiative or concern for your fellow man was highly discouraged. I relate very well to the behaviour of the suits, anyone with an ounce of concern for others are not working in those positions. Trust me.
