The Queen Gives Approval for Foreign Awards to be Worn
In the last few days, in anticipation of a rejection from the HD Committee, we have been working hard. We have spent days at the National Archives and have copied over 500 pages from files.
Those pages tell the same old story. Over and over again through the decades these people have been playing with their Rules to suit their agenda.
We'll publish some interesting items, but thought we should start with this one which was referred to in those NA files:
In this London Gazette entry The Queen decrees that if she approves acceptance by a private citizen of a Foreign award (and she has done exactly that with the PJM), then She decrees that she is also giving the recipient permission to wear it!
Why has a small group of unelected civil servants spent two years of their time for which we pay to try and hide this and to try and overrule Her Majesty's intentions?

So, if you think you are a private citizen, then you have Her Majesty's permission to wear your PJM.

...Way back....In the 17th century, the French philosopher René Descartes came up with the "explanation for it all": when he said, "I think, therefore I am".
I remember this statement being the source of heated debate in philosophy class.
Still works for me!

Consider this:
The Queen has given us permission to wear, that is good enough for me! Let the suits prove otherwise, we have earned this right through honouring our fallen comrades to wear the PJM, if the Suits can come up with circumstantial evidence to the contrary then that statement stands alone!
I have to thank Barry and his researcher for spending hours at The National Archives in Kew, obtaining hundreds of files/letters/memoes, they all had to be perused and photographed and it is still ongoing. By great fortune our timing was spot on, congratulations Barry and all!

I'm surprised that not many PJMers have commented on Barry's thread, this is of the utmost importance in our mission, I repeat We have the right to wear the PJM by HMQ we can prove it, now the suits must disprove it!

I can find no amendment so it stands we have permission and the amendment has to be in the LG.
I and others have been reading file after file, letter after letter for hours, my eyes are hurting from reading all this print sometimes very poor handwritting which you have to enlarge so that you can read it.
I am yet to wear my PJM I now shall I have HM's permission London Gazette 3rd May 1968.

Well done Barry and team. Now we can all wear our PJMs with a clear conscience, I only have one concern. How can we ensure we receive an apology from HDC for all the problems their intrasigence has caused ?

Hi Pete...am currently remarking to the Memsahib, how you have maintained complete control of your post.
I am sending a copy of that entry in the London Gazette to her Majesty and ask whether that still stands. If it does not, when was the entry in the London Gazette, reversing that decision.
Yours Aye

Our statement is on an open public forum for anyone to read, we have HMQ's permission to wear the PJM, if anyone wishes to request clarification ask Whitehall to do this, they had the very files out of The National Archives for 12 months denying Paul Alders the right to see them, only via Paul's MP were the files returned. Whether anything was added or deleted is a matter of conjecture
The NA files and HMGs announcement yesterday coincided by pure chance, a lot of behind the scenes activity has been going on, we, repeat, have HMQs permission to wear the PJM, it is now down to Whitehall to refute this with their evidence
